Each spring grant schools submit Art One or Foundation level portfolios for review by AP Studio Art grant teachers.  For the past three years the portfolios have been submitted in a digital format and include six "core" works: contour line, portraiture, 1 and 2 point perspective, value still life, schematic color, sculpture in-the-round.  Portfolios are evaluated on a scale from "1" to "6" based on the College Board Scoring Guidelines and the Instructional Goals for Studio Art. Detailed feedback forms with accolades and suggestions for improvement are provided to teachers and students.

Program Goals for the Art One Digital Portfolio Review

  • Provide art students with the necessary skills to receive a passing score on the College Board Ap Studio Art Portfolio Exam and qualify for college credit.
  • Improve and strengthen the Art One curriculum to provide high school students with a well-rounded foundation program for creating art
  • Increase the number of AP Studio Art students who are prepared to enroll in challenging AP art courses

2010 Art One Digital Portfolio Review for grant schools was held on March 27th at Coppell High School. Digital Portfolios must be submitted to AP Strategies Arts on March 12, 2010.
